We designed a course addressed to professionals working in due diligence, compliance and related fields. The course is held by a former China head of research of a large multinational corporate research firm.
The course begins with a presentation of the field of open source intelligence and the availability of online information in various jurisdictions across the world, with a focus on the target jurisdictions the client is interested in. From there, we provide detailed instructions for setting up research infrastructure that is optimized for data collection, analysis and preservation. Next, we will be introducing key research tools and techniques. Lastly, we will discuss about data analysis and report writing.
The course will be delivered virtually, over four 3.5 hour sessions. All our trainings are customized, and the outline below will be tailored to meet the client's requirements (in terms of jurisdiction of focus, tools of interest, reporting format etc.)
At the end of Day 1, the participants will understand what is needed in order to conduct online research in a safe environment, keeping in mind operational security and issues around preservation of information.
At the end of Day 2, the participants will have a clear understanding about the main public databases available and the extent of the public information that can be obtained via open source intelligence (OSINT) research.
At the end of Day 3, the participants will be able to pivot off various data points and perform more complex data collection techniques using free and paid tools.
At the end of Day 4, the participants will be familiar with how technology can be used to automate part of the research process and will understand the importance of report writing and templates.
